  3. TRAPPING USERS
  4. The program can work in 2 modes: one offers a menu on each page so that
  5. users can enter and leave  program units at will; the other 'traps' the 
  6. user within a unit once started (to help  ensure that pupils stay on
  7. task). As supplied, there is a menu on each page for easier review.
  8. Personally, I prefer 'trapping' pupils within the program.

  10. QUICK EXIT
  11. When in the mode that traps the user, you may wish to terminate the
  12. program rapidly (perhaps at the end of a lesson). Do this by typing 
  13. a password into any answer box and clicking the page heading.
  14. On pages without answer boxes RIGHT click on the page heading and
  15. enter the password. The default password is "equation".

  18. Both these options can be changed by running the program "options.exe" 
  19. (click on 'Change Options'): select 'Option to trap users' or 'Quick 
  20. exit password'. The password is not secure and can be changed at any
  21. time. You can revert to the default password by deleting the file 
  22. "pass.dat" from the "equation" directory.

  24. On a network the 'options.exe' program should not be available to pupils.

  26. This may seem complicated, but might help teachers keep one step ahead 
  27. of pupils!

  29. Please print out a copy of this file for all teachers! And let them know 
  30. if you change the password.
